A 30-day sprint to recreate a Le Mans legend. I was commissioned to develop a high-fidelity digital twin of the iconic Takefuji Porsche 962C (Chassis #143) currently residing in the Banzai Collection. The goal was to produce a versatile asset capable of high-end cinematic rendering in Unreal Engine 5 and optimized performance for WebGL/Pixel Streaming.
🛠The Technical Challenge:
Source Data: Interpreted and processed raw STL 3D scan data for the chassis, engine, and interior.
Accuracy: Utilized 184 on-site high-resolution reference photos to ensure every weld, bolt, and "race scar" was captured.
Deadline: Complete asset delivery from scan retopology to final PBR materials within a strict 30-day window.
💻 Technical Specifications:
Modeling: Autodesk Maya (Sub-D and High-to-Low poly workflow).
Texturing: Substance 3D Painter (PBR Metallic/Roughness).
Rendering: Unreal Engine 5 (Lumen/Path Tracing) & V-Ray.
Optimization: Custom LODs for WebGL and interactive showroom use.
